Fosters Colour Print Challenge, Result (Win)

Results of Fosters’ Colour Print Challenge, held Sunday 14th April 2024 at Nettleham Village Hall.

We entered this LPA competition with thoughts of a good chance of at least getting good scores, and by golly, did we get some good scores.

The judge for this prestigious event was the well respected Carol McNiven-Young, FRPS EFIAP/s BPE5* DPAGB.

There was a good sized, enthusiastic audience made up from members of participating clubs.

13 LPA affiliated clubs participated, each entering 5 prints plus a potential tie-breaker.

Scoring was close and we were level pegging with our local “rivals” Cleethorpes CC after the final round.

Prints were scored from 1 to 5 points, and both Grimsby PS and Cleethorpes CC scored 1 x 3, 1 x 4 and 3 x 5

Neither club gained the extra point available if the Best Print was selected from their selection, so the tie-breaker came into play, with both clubs offering up a print that was as strong as the rest of the prints.

In the end, the judge chose our print over that of Cleethorpes CC, giving us the win, and the custody of the silver trophy for the next year.

Thanks to Ron Abbott and the LPA for organising the competition, to John Thorndike for encouraging members to submit prints for selection and to our members for making their prints available.

Entered Panel.
