Born in Grimsby I am now over 60 years old and retired. I started my passion for photography in 1975 when my brother gave me a Zenith E 35mm film camera. My preference in those days was for colour slide film which I processed at home and occasionally produced prints in my makeshift darkroom via Cibachrome.
I took a very long break from photography as work & family life swallowed up all my spare time. Fast forward many years until digital photography came along and reignited my passion in this very interesting hobby.
I take pictures of a wide variety of subjects and enjoy natural light far more than flash. Photography is a joy for me but I am constantly looking at my work to see what I can do to improve as well as updating my skills and style.
I only shoot RAW images and use DXO Photolab 3 software as my RAW image converter of choice. Recently I started to learn / use photoshop to give me more creative editing options. I do enjoy the editing process just as much as taking the photo.
There is always something new to learn in all aspects of digital photography, which adds to the fascination and fun of this amazing hobby.
