Our final meeting of this year –  a good excuse for a social event!

The plan –  a “Fun” print knockout, followed by a fish and chip supper  –  contact secretary  johumberstone@msn.com to make sure you are included in the numbers.

Yes, you can fetch a tipple or two for your own consumption, yes you can bring along mince pies etc to share or enjoy yourself.

Yes, you are allowed to have fun!

How does the print knock-out work you ask?

Every member is encouraged to fetch along a selection of prints (mounted will protect them)

No need to worry about rules other than the print is all your own work.

The prints form all members are placed in one pile, which is then split into 2 piles – trying to randomly spread out the prints from each member.

A print from each pile is pitted against each other and members vote which one to keep.

This reduces the number of prints and the final remaining print author will win a bottle of wine.

Jo Humberstone

I've always had an interest in photography, starting too many years ago than I care to remember. I have a variety of cameras in working order ~ pinhole, medium format, 35mm and digital. With working full time, there never seems to be enough free time to properly indulge in using them. 10 years or so ago, I took my first (and only!) "A" level ~ in photography. I was the only one on the course to only do darkroom work throughout. My own preferences lie with film and alternative processes ~ Digital is fine for most things, but for me it hasn't got as much "soul"! I enjoy sloshing around with various chemicals and I enjoy the unpredictability of some of the results. Having said that, I am happy to rise to the challenge of digital work and manipulating images for competitions and suchlike when time permits.
